Handicap Accessible PDF Print E-mail

picfive.jpgIn 1990, the year that the ADA, Americans with Disabilities Act, was enforced, Gazebo took a pro-active stance.  Judith Fine worked with the City of Northampton, to create the CAN Program.  The CAN, run by the City, offered generous grants to downtown businesses to become accessible.

Northampton wanted to be known as “the little city that can!” and wanted to be welcoming to all visitors to our wonderful downtown.

Gazebo’s front entry had an automatic door opener installed.

The entire store is spaciously laid out in such a way that makes it easily navigated by wheelchairs, scooters and strollers. Our dressing rooms are spacious as well and allow for easy access.

Gazebo won one of the first Stavros Center Awards for businesses that helped to make a difference to people with disabilities.

We welcome service animals as well.
